Glad to contribute to this InformationWeek article by Richard Pallardy that investigates the tension between the energy needed for AI and the benefits of AI in making the grid more sustainable and more resilient.
Good talking with Grant Gross at CIO Online about the impact of AI on the future of jobs. For Start-ups, AI will allow for smaller teams to get further in delivering product to market. In large legacy companies, junior roles may take the brunt of change being accelerated by AI in the near-term. However, these companies need to be strategic in creating opportunities for young developers so that they can develop the talent their organizations will need to be competitive in the next 5-10 years. This is especially true for traditional energy infrastructure and automotive companies as they migrate their teams from primarily hardware development to software integrated system development.
While AI will no doubt impact org and team structure over time, there remains ample opportunity for those developers who can bridge technology and business to translate product needs to technology requirements; this skill is still very much in the hands and minds of people.
Great conversation with Joseph Batir on Energy Transition Solutions. Always enjoy discussing the economic value of V2G and the future of mobility and energy.
